HIP Cladding
Tools in mineral processing applications often suffer from heavy abrasive wear. In order to increse the wear resistance of tool in for example the briquetting process for minerals the surface should contain hard particles like carbides, borides or nitrides.
HIP cladding is a well known method to produce thick coatings on steel based substrates. Coatings of up tp 35 mm in thickness are standard today.
