Offshore Mechanical/Hydraulic Components
Parts used in offshore oil and gas platforms are subject to severe operational and environmental stresses.
Both the Hot and Cold Isostatic Process can be employed to consolidate encapsulated metal powders to their maximum theoretical density, giving critical parts the durability and reliability required under demanding conditions. The use of isotropic, high alloyed, PM materials, in combination with the creation of a very fine grain microstructure give better mechanical, physical and chemical properties than conventionally forged or cast materials. In principal any complex form of a pipe or valve system can be welded into a capsule, reducing the constraints on the part designer.
