Record MegaCIP system commissioned

The world's largest isostatic press supplied by Avure Technologies AB Sweden and its US sister company Flow Autoclave Systems Inc has been successfully commissioned and handed over to their US customer. This MegaCIP system is used for the compaction of powdered materials. The wire-wound pre-stressed pressure vessel inner dimensions are diameter 1.8m (73") by height 5.5m (215"). The working pressure is 138 MPa (20,000 psi) and the system can process 8 tons of powder material per batch. The weight of the machine is 300 tons, which is only of the corresponding weight of a conventional non pre-stressed cold about 50% isostatic press.
